Terms of Service

Last updated July 7, 2026

Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or using Shadow, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. We may update these terms from time to time, and continuing to use Shadow after a change means you accept the updated terms.

The service

Shadow lets signed-in users generate playable browser games from text prompts, and lets anyone browse and play games created by the community. The service is provided as-is and may change over time — we may add, remove, or modify features, and we may apply limits to how much you can generate or how the service is used, at our discretion.

Accounts

You need an account to generate games. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your login credentials secure — you're responsible for activity that happens under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use Shadow.

Your content

You own the prompts you write and the games generated from them. By creating and publishing a game on Shadow, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, distribute, and otherwise make that content available on the platform — so other players can browse and play it. This license lasts as long as your content remains on Shadow.

Acceptable use

Don't use Shadow to create or share content that is unlawful, infringes someone else's intellectual property, is hateful or harassing, or is sexually explicit. Don't abuse the game generation systems (including attempts to bypass limits or extract underlying prompts/models), scrape the platform, or otherwise interfere with its normal operation.

Content moderation & takedowns

We may remove content or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, at our discretion and without prior notice. If you believe a game infringes your intellectual property, you can report it through the reporting option available on the game itself and we'll review it.

Disclaimers

Shadow is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Generated games may contain bugs, inaccuracies, or unexpected behavior.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Shadow and its team won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, even if we've been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Termination

You can stop using Shadow and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or if we believe your use of the service poses a risk to Shadow or other users.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms as Shadow evolves. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
