What we collect

We collect account information like your email address and username, the prompts and games you create, and usage data such as plays, likes, and basic device or browser information. If you sign in with Google, we receive the basic profile details Google shares as part of that flow.

How we use it

We use this information to run the service — creating your account, generating and hosting your games, and showing plays and likes on content across the platform. We also use aggregate usage data to understand how people use Shadow and to improve game generation over time.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. These are functional cookies required for the service to work properly — we don't use cookies for third-party advertising.

Analytics

We use PostHog to understand how people use Shadow — things like which pages are visited and how features perform — so we can improve the product. This data is tied to your usage of Shadow, not sold or shared for advertising purposes.

Service providers

We rely on a small set of providers to run Shadow: Supabase for authentication and our database, Vercel for hosting, Resend for transactional email, and PostHog for analytics. Each processes data on our behalf and only to the extent needed to provide their service.

What we don't do

We don't sell your personal data, and we don't run third-party advertising on Shadow.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time through in-product support, and we'll process the request in a reasonable timeframe.

Children

Shadow is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under that age.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Shadow evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above whenever we make changes, and material updates may be highlighted within the product.
